Our tables are always made of solid wood – sometimes with additional natural accessories (such as stone, moss, etc.) and connect with artifical resin. The artifical resin and its binding to the wood is stronger than the wood itself. In the case of making a resin sheet separately and deliberately breaking it, it breaks along one line, does not collapse, and the line of breaking does not approach the sharpness of the glass, so it is absolutely harmless, even for families with small children. To accomplish this, we would need to apply more force to the resin surface than the load capacity of the wood (so if the table top is overloaded, the wood part will break, not the resin).
The resin in the table top is absolutely harmless. It is not characterized by any evaporation, it does not react with strong solvents (eg nitro diluent or acetone), UV stable.
The table top has a load capacity of 40kg / cm, so a 3cm table top can be loaded up to 120kg with an even weight distribution.
Our furniture, table tops are basically maintenance free, which means that under normal use, no additional surface treatment (re-painting) is required.
Cleaning is done with lukewarm water or lukewarm dishwashing water. It is especially important that you do not use any abrasive, since the particles in it can scratch the surface.
Do not expose the tabletop to high heat. When serving, use a placemat, especially for hot oil or for baking directly from the oven. Protect against mechanical damage (dents, tipping).
This resin is specially formulated for this purpose and is therefore very high in strength but does not reach the hardness of the glass. The resin has a higher scratch resistance than wood, but since it is a homogeneous, smooth surface, small scratches are easier to spot (especially in the clear). We treat it carefully to preserve its original surface for a long time. Hard materials (porcelain plate, glass mug) should be placed with care, not thrown.
